Red Special Bodies

The making of John, Paul and George Burns July 1996-November 1997:

Below are drawings of the body shape which I used for making ‘John’, ‘Paul’ and ‘George Burns’. These drawings were produced on computer with my graphic artist friend Greg Campbell in November 1996 and were based on several of my hand drawn cardboard templates.

George’s New Guinea Rosewood veneer is coated with West System epoxy resin to seal and fill the deep pores of the grain and to bring out the incredible looking textures of the timber. West System used as a base followed by other paint systems does this more effectively than anything else I have used.
