Pics from Queen + Adam Lambert Sydney 27th August 2014:
This was a fabulous show with great musicianship and vocals on display. Brian’s playing was spectacular, note perfect, his sound massive and to the fore of the mix as you would expect with a ‘Queen’ performance. Adam Lambert’s vocals were extremely impressive and his stage presence perfect considering the shoes he was attempting to fill. Adam combined confident theatrical playful good humour with great respect shown towards Roger, Brian and of course dear Freddie.

’39 : the upright bass had a problem and wasn’t working but Brian and the rest of the boys made up for it

Encore: ‘We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions’
The end of a fantastic inspiring concert!
After Show Party:
My friends and I waited until after Brian had spoken to all his other guests. After a long and demanding tour Brian must have been feeling tired but was ever the gracious generous and good humoured host, always thinking of others before himself as I have seen so many time before. We chatted to Brian for about 20 mins, shared a few jokes etc and he graciously posed for some photos with my friends. I am sure they will never forget this marvellous night – it was wonderful from start to finish and I owe a great many thanks to Brian for his generosity and friendship – he is one of nature’s true gentlemen.

Greg no 2 and Brian, and what a fabulous Reg Mombassa ‘Mambo’ shirt! I told Brian the story about how in 1978 I sold Reg an AC30 (my spare) back in my rock’n roll playing days. A down to earth lovely guy, Reg (real name Chris O’Doherty) is an excellent pro guitarist who played for many years in well known Sydney band ‘Mental As Anything’; but Reg’s quirky artistic works have well and truly eclipsed his musical career. Pete Malandrone dropped over earlier to say hello but was very tired due to the long gruelling tour and and not looking his normal pretty self so I didn’t take a pic.
