The ‘Fryer Fuzz’ distortion pedal was handmade by Greg Fryer from 2005-2008.

Approx 30 units were built during those years, the circuit was 4 stage silicone transistor and used germanium diodes in the distortion stage which was a heavily modified Big Muff type circuit. The pedal produced sweeter Brian May type tones than the original transistor circuit Big Muff which I had owned in the late 1970s but had always had a love/hate relationship with. The ‘Fryer Fuzz’ also handled well the Brian May treble booster plugged into it first in line, and at the time I considered it a possible successor to the BM/Fryer ‘Mayhem’ overdrive/distortion pedal.
